When is the Annual Gathering of Games?
The Annual Gathering of Games Conference will be held on May 9-11, 2012.
The conference begins with optional Pre-Conference Workshops on May 9th from 1-5 PM. The conference runs all day May 10th and concludes at 12:30 PM on May 11th.
Where is the event held?
The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch.
Pricing
I’m on a budget, how can I make the conference more affordable?
The Great Game of Business offers multiple discounts to help you come in under budget. The best way to save is to register early.
Before March 23rd:
- 1-4 Attendees: $695/each
- 5+ Attendees: $595/each
After March 23rd:
- 1-4 Attendees: $795/each
- 5+ Attendees: $695/each
Are there other ways to save money?
Yes, we highly encourage you to stay at the Hyatt in the Gathering of Games Hotel Room Block. A reduced room rate of $149 per night is available for conference attendees.
Participants who commit to staying at the Hyatt in the Gathering of Games Hotel Room Block will receive an additional $100 off their registration fee for each room booked (participants who share rooms will only be eligible for one discount).
What expenses aren’t included in the registration fee?
- Pre-Conference Workshops (Wednesday, May 9th from 1:30 to 5:30) are an additional $195/each.
- Busch Stadium Networking Reception Tickets – includes dinner and drinks (Wednesday, May 9th from 6:30 – 9:30) are an additional $70/each.
- Transportation
- Hotel
- Meals not included in the registration
You are responsible for transportation, hotel, and meals not included in the conference registration. In addition, Pre-Conference Workshops and the Networking Reception are not included in the main registration fee.
How is the pricing different from years past?
We are offering an additional $100 off per person to companies who book in our hotel room block. (limited to the first 150 participants)
Is there a multi-person discount?
Yes, teams of 5 or more receive a $100 per person discount.
What am I getting for my money?
You will receive full conference access and free entry into the All-Star Celebration Party for the standard conference fee. This includes the option of more than 20 conference sessions related to Open-Book Management.
Do you offer a hotel room discount?
Yes – The cost is $149 a night at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch for annual conference attendees.
What is the difference between the concurrent sessions and sponsored sessions?
Concurrent sessions are led by Open-Book leaders. Sponsored sessions are best practice sessions led by sponsors who understand and provide synergistic content to Open-Book companies.
What is the Gathering of Games?
The Gathering of Games is the only conference where the Open-Book Community comes together from around the world to learn, share, and celebrate the principles and practices of the Great Game of Business and Open-Book Management.

Is there parking available at the hotel?
The Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch offers valet parking on site for $25 per day. The hotel also offers self parking for $19 per day. There are also other public parking garages available near the hotel.
Will there be transportation to and from the airport?
Transportation is not provided to and from the St. Louis airport. The hotel is approximately 15 miles (20 minutes) from St. Louis International Airport.

Can I register for the conference if I’ve never been to a Great Game event?
Yes, but we would highly encourage you to attend the pre-conference workshop “The Game Overview” in order to make the most of your conference investment.
Could I just attend one day of the conference?
Yes, but reduced pricing is not offered for single day attendance.
When does registration end?
Registration ends April 30th, 2012.
What do I wear at the conference?
The conference is a fun environment. We encourage everyone to wear logo-wear for their organization.
What meals are covered by the conference?
Breakfast on Thursday and Friday, and lunch on Thursday will be provided.
